How one small change at the kitchen line can make your opponents quit

Hey...

You ever feel like you’re at the kitchen line… but not really in control?

Like, your feet are there… but your game?

It’s stuck somewhere between “please don’t hit it to me” and “oh crap, they just did.”

We’ve all been there.

Controlling the kitchen line isn’t about being close to the net.

It’s about owning that space like it’s yours—and making your opponents regret stepping foot in it.

This newsletter’s gonna show you how to do exactly that.

Today, you’ll learn:

✅ How to plant yourself like a kitchen-line boss (without becoming a statue)

👣 The micro-footwork trick that makes you quicker than a cat in yoga pants

🛡️ Why your paddle angle matters way more than your paddle brand

👀 The weird eye trick that helps you read your opponent like a cheap novel

PLUS: How to get our Pro Series Training for just $5 (normally $97!) and turn your kitchen skills into cold, hard wins...

Let’s lock in and take over the line.

You in?

The shocking strategy everyone overlooks that turns you into a kitchen dominator

If you’ve ever stood at the kitchen line feeling like a deer in headlights — watching your opponent stroll in like they own the place — you know that kitchen is the real battlefield.

Control the kitchen, and you basically control the game. Lose it, and you’re running for cover on every point.

Here’s the deal: most players think controlling the kitchen means just being there. Nope. That’s like saying owning a Ferrari means just sitting in the driver’s seat. You gotta know how to DRIVE.

So, what’s the secret?

Stop Chasing—Start Planting Your Feet

The biggest mistake? Moving back and forth like you’re on a pogo stick, chasing every ball. Spoiler alert: that’s exhausting, and it hands momentum to your opponent.

Instead, pick a strong, balanced stance—feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, paddle up and ready. Plant yourself like a tree.

When you do this, you become a wall—a frustrating, immovable object that opponents can’t push past.

Master the “Micro-Step”

Here’s where most players lose it: big, clunky steps. Those make you slow to react and vulnerable.

Instead, use micro-steps—tiny, controlled shifts left, right, forward, or back. Think of it like a cat stalking prey. Silent, quick, precise.

This keeps you balanced and ready to pounce on every dink or drive coming your way.

Control the Paddle Angle Like a Pro

Your paddle isn’t just a weapon; it’s a shield. Keep it angled slightly downward and soft when dinking, ready to block or redirect.

This simple tweak makes your shots unpredictable and your blocks nearly impossible to attack.

Bonus: Eye on the Opponent’s Belly Button

Sounds weird? Maybe. But watching your opponent’s belly button instead of their paddle or eyes gives you the best clue about their body movement and shot direction.

It’s subtle, but it works like magic.

Why Does This Matter?

Because the kitchen is the front line. When you control it:

  • You dictate the pace

  • You frustrate your opponent

  • You set yourself up for the winning shot

Control the kitchen like this, and you’ll start walking off the court with more wins—and more swagger.
